Another PC Party Tax! The Ford PCs can't help themselves!

Tuesday, March 28, 2023

Over the last five years, Doug Ford and the Ontario PC Party have demonstrated that they are no different - and often even more left wing - than the Liberal Party.

The Ford PCs are now giving us another example of their willingness to follow in the Liberals' footsteps: They're quietly imposing a new tax on Ontarians!

The Container Recycling Fee (CRF), as it is called, will come into effect on Saturday, April 1st.

The PC government has decreed that Ontarians will now have to pay a tax of 1 to 3 cents per beverage bottle or can, and unlike alcoholic beverage containers, customers will not be able to recoup the cost through a return system.  Read more about the tax by clicking here.

In their usual evasive fashion, the Ford PCs have tried to separate themselves from this new "can tax" by claiming that it won't be coming from the government - but it is being imposed by companies because of new government regulations.

Kind of like when Doug Ford and the PCs introduced an industrial carbon tax to "make big emitters pay," and that tax was immediately passed down to Ontario consumers.

The PCs are ultimately imposing another tax at a time when many Ontarians are struggling to cover the cost of basic needs like groceries, electricity, and heating.

We need New Blue MPPs at Queens Park to fight the continued implementation of Trudeau’s disastrous left wing policies by the Ford PCs.

And with several provincial by-elections coming up, Ontarians will have more opportunities to elect New Blue representation - instead of four establishment parties with virtually identical values.

Please consider chipping in (by clicking here) to help us keep building the New Blue Party and prepare for the upcoming by-elections!

Thank you for your continued support!
