All the Ford PCs need is a letter!

Wednesday, September 21, 2022

Doug Ford and the Ontario PC government have inadvertently admitted they have all the power they need to stand up for parents, students, and workers against any provincial bureaucracy, whether that be a school, a university, or even a hospital.

For four years, when it came to standing up for hardworking Ontarians, the Ford PCs repeatedly went into hiding and pretended they were powerless.

But last week, when it came to our Monarchy, the Ford PCs discovered the power they have to issue orders.

And in doing so, the Ford PCs showed us that all it takes for any provincial government in Canada to stand up for their citizens against a provincial bureaucracy, is a letter.

That's it.

A letter.

The PC's Education Minister, Stephen Lecce, wrote such a letter that "directed" the York Region District School Board to commemorate the passing of Queen Elizabeth II.

Prior to Lecce's letter, the York Region District School Board issued a memorandum to their school administrators asking them to limit the conversations on the death of the Queen because students could be "triggered" by the discussion.

But in response to a single letter from Lecce, the York Region District School Board reversed their position stating that they are "obliged to adhere to what the ministry has recommended."

That's all it took.

One letter from a minister in the Ford PC government and a school board obliged.

On the John Oakley Show on AM640 Toronto radio last week, I reminded listeners of the power the Ford PC government has - but refuses to use - to stand up to the demands of the radical "woke mob."

There are countless other examples where parents, students, and workers, need the Ford PC government to stand up for them.

When it comes to the male teacher in the Halton District School Board that is wearing prosthetic breasts to the classroom (click here to read about it) - the Ford PCs and Lecce are silent.

When it comes to the COVID-19 mandates that the Western University continues to impose, the Ford PCs are silent. Click here to access our petition calling on the Ford government to order Western University to end their mandates.

And when it came to stopping schools from forcing four and five year olds to wear masks or stopping hospitals from firing healthcare workers because of COVID-19 mandates, the Ford PCs said nothing.

In all these and many other situations, all it took from the Ford PC government to stand up for parents, students, and workers, was a letter.

But instead, the Ford PCs repeatedly bowed down to the "woke mob."

It was just a few months ago that the entire PC caucus voted in favour of the NDP's Bill 67, which called for fining our children in school for "subconscious racism."

Inside and outside the legislature, the New Blue Party was the only voice standing against Bill 67.

Belinda Karahalios was the only MPP to vote against the bill.

Since then, another NDP MPP has brought another version of Bill 67 back to the legislature. And the new version is even more radical than Bill 67 was.

Will the Ontario PCs cave into their "woke" instincts and support the bill? Time will tell.

But with your continued support, the New Blue Party will keep the Ford PC government accountable.

We will keep building the New Blue and offer even stronger leadership to challenge the left, balance the narrative, and change the course.
