Meet Margaret Schuler, your New Blue Party candidate!
Margaret Schuler always knew that she’d follow in her mother’s footsteps and become a teacher. She taught grades K-6 with the Toronto District School Board for 30 years, specializing in ESL and Special Education.
Upon retiring in 2015, Margaret moved to Belleville to be closer to her daughter, a former Loyalist student, and her new grandson. Margaret stayed engaged, working occasionally as a substitute teacher and becoming active in local charities and church groups.
Margaret’s father fought on the beaches of Normandy and returned home to become a successful lawyer. From her father, Margaret learned to advocate for what she believes in and also, when to fight for those beliefs.
During her rewarding teaching career, Margaret worked under Education Ministries of all political stripes. She considers the Ford PCs’ management of education to be the worst in generations. This became most obvious to Margaret during the pandemic, when Doug Ford’s self-proclaimed “toughest COVID-19 restrictions in North America” delayed children’s language and social development.
Margaret is ready to fight for you.
