It is a real shame what is happening to Derek Sloan - destroying whatever goodwill he previously built with his prior supporters by continuing to push fake news.

Derek recently re-emerged from his failed attempt at becoming an Alberta politician, and his failed promise to build a federal political party, and duped Rebel News into stating that he is entering "the race to become premier of Ontario."

Not true.

Derek didn't bother telling Rebel News what he had previously told establishment media source iPolitics.

Derek isn't even committed to running as a candidate in the Ontario provincial election, next June. Below is an image from the iPolitics article:

Derek also didn't bother telling Rebel News that, in addition to not committing to run in the next Ontario election, the paper provincial political party that Derek has now joined, publicly confirmed they won't be running candidates in every riding.

Sadly, Derek's false claims don't end there.

Derek told Rebel News and iPolitics that he was "open" to working with the New Blue Party of Ontario.

Also, not true.

Over a series of text and telephone conversations in September and October, I repeatedly asked Derek to meet in person. Derek never took me up on my offer.

The provincial party that Derek has now joined only exists on paper. It was registered with Elections Ontario three years ago and since then, hasn't done a thing. The paper party has no board of directors, no constitution, no governance documents, no mission statement, no principles, no riding association, no party members, and has never undergone an audit.

Last year, the individual controlling this paper party at the time, offered to have me and Belinda join and build the party in exchange for giving him a taxpayer-funded job in Belinda's office.

We decided, instead, with the support of thousands, to do things the right way - without shortcuts and unethical deals - and to register the New Blue Party of Ontario, cleanly. For over a year, our team has worked to build the New Blue Party into a party of substance - even while I recovered from bone cancer and went through chemotherapy and reconstructive leg surgeries to now become cancer-free and walk again.

We have reached out to all individuals we were able to contact, and who were interested in taking our calls, to discuss joining the New Blue Party, including Derek Sloan.

On September 20th - the evening of the federal election - I sent Derek a text message offering to meet, when and if he ever returned from Alberta.

In telephone conversations that followed, I even went as far as offering Derek the opportunity to consult on the individuals who should found our New Blue riding association in his old riding of Hastings - Lennox and Addington.

I never heard back from Derek on any of these requests.

Last week, Derek called me to tell me he was abandoning his plan to form a federal party claiming he was going to enter provincial politics.

In our conversation, Derek didn't once suggest he wanted to work together and didn't even offer to meet.

Why did I reach out to and ask to meet with Derek Sloan? At the time, Derek was a federal politician who for months was promising, but failing, to successfully register a federal political party that he claimed would be the greatest movement Canada has ever seen.

Truth be told, I felt badly for Derek.

For a time, I thought Derek was unknowingly and repeatedly being manipulated by establishment PC operatives into doing things that reflected poorly on him and which benefited the establishment.

But after watching Derek for the last week take untruthful pot-shots at the New Blue Party, me, and Belinda, it is clear Derek knows exactly what he and his handlers are doing - trying to help the PC establishment by falsely telling his frustrated prior supporters that we didn't want to work with him.

Derek and his handlers, like Randy Hillier and his handlers, know full well that real political parties take a lot of time and effort to set up.

They know that when the New Blue Party starts accepting contributions from thousands of donors and members, our party cannot be collapsed.

And they know that after working hard for a year to establish the New Blue Party, with a board, a constitution, riding associations, thousands of members and donors, and now receiving candidate applications - it would be ridiculous for us to walk away from the New Blue Party to follow them in paper political parties that will never be set up in time for next June's Ontario election.

So, why are they doing this?

And why has Derek decided to send daily emails begging his prior supporters to "desperately" donate to this paper provincial political party so he can "lead a genuine challenge to Doug Ford's PCs" when he isn't actually challenging anything?

Now, Derek Sloan is deceiving Ontarians, just like Randy.

Derek is being handled by PC operatives who have cozy relationships with the establishment and who have a personal interest in ensuring that the New Blue Party does not replace and overtake the Ontario PC Party.

Derek's handlers have come at us repeatedly before, behind the scenes, in covert ways.

Despite all that, I was looking to put the past aside and meet with Derek.

But Derek and his handlers weren't interested in taking a meeting.

Instead, Derek has gone back to his handlers in an attempt to distract and discredit the New Blue Party by pretending Derek has joined a political party, that only exists on paper, and that Derek is pretending will take on Doug Ford and the Ontario PC Party.

Derek isn't trying to take on the Ontario PC Party - he's trying to protect it from the New Blue Party of Ontario.

Derek isn't even committed to running in the next Ontario election and has stated his paper party isn't going to run candidates in every riding.

As the Leader of the New Blue Party, I am going to run in the next provincial election. I will be announcing the riding I will be contesting soon.

Our New Blue Member of Provincial Parliament, Belinda Karahalios, will also be running.

And with your help, we will run candidates in every single riding across Ontario.
