Fight!

Tuesday, July 16, 2024

The image of President Donald Trump taking cover after a bullet pierced his upper ear was shocking, horrifying and truly frightening.

It was like nothing I had ever seen before.

It is one thing to receive a death threat as a public figure for the first time.

As someone new to politics in 2018, it took me time to adjust to the death threats I received when I was first elected.

In 2020, it took me another period of adjustment as the threats both increased and intensified in response to the media and PC establishment vilifying me for voting my conscience.

Yet, no death threat can compare or prepare someone for the real thing.

The real thing is exactly what President Donald Trump faced on Saturday afternoon.

And through Divine intervention, President Donald Trump not only survived, he rose back up with courage, grace, and the will to act.

He stood with a fist in the air, letting those still in attendance at his rally know that he was alright.

And in the few seconds he had, he found the wisdom to say one word:

Fight!

As frightening as the assassination attempt was, we draw inspiration from the courage under literal fire that President Donald Trump showed the world that day.

We take the time to pray for the eternal rest of hero Corey Comperatore, who lost his life shielding his family from a bullet.

And we pray that the Comperatore family will find the strength they need to endure during this devastating period.

Last Saturday's assassination attempt was a reminder that we must fight to preserve the very values that have shaped the western world, including Canada.

It is easy to take for granted how lucky we are to live in a place like Ontario, where government is decided at the ballot box and not through the use of violence.

So, fight on we shall!

To challenge the left, balance the narrative, and change the course.

And through the power of God, we hope we are able to find even a splinter of the courage, grace, and will to act that President Donald Trump showed us last Saturday.

God bless you and your family.

Thank you for your continued support.
