On Tuesday, Doug Ford confirmed that he and federal Finance Minister Chrystia Freeland have agreed on yet another obscene "green" deal between the federal Liberal and Ontario PC governments.

Ontario taxpayers will now be forced to shell out approximately $4 billion in subsidies to Stellantis for electric vehicle (EV) battery manufacturing in Windsor.

And since Trudeau has promised to match Biden's corporate welfare for EV production in the United States, Canadian taxpayers may end up paying Stellantis even more than the $13.2 billion dollars Trudeau and Ford promised to Volkswagen's EV project earlier this spring.

We shouldn't be surprised that Doug Ford and his PC Party of "yes men" mirror the Trudeau Liberals on virtually every issue.

After all, Doug Ford has been telling us that Justin Trudeau is "incredible," and that "there's no one that would be better in that [finance minister] role than Chrystia Freeland," for more than three years now.

According to a report this week (click here to read), Ford proudly confirmed that he was on the phone with Freeland until 2 a.m. Wednesday.  "'This is a record for Chrystia and I — during the pandemic we'd be up at (midnight) talking to each other,' he said."

The Ontario PC Party's love affair with the Trudeau Liberals is one of the many reasons the New Blue Party of Ontario exists.

A responsible Ontario government should focus on lowering taxes and slashing burdensome regulations to attract innovation and manufacturing to our province — not engaging in wasteful corporate welfare programs that will end when the taxpayer money runs out.

Doug Ford's $4 billion dollar electric vehicle subsidy is just another example of the Ontario PC Party embracing their role as the new Ontario wing of the Trudeau Liberal government.
