The Ford PCs cave on our petition's first measure!
Thursday, April 12, 2023
Weeks after launching our petition, it has been confirmed that MPP Vincent Ke would not be named "Chairman Ke" of the Social Policy Committee - and he is no longer on the Justice Policy Committee either!
Thanks to your help signing and distributing our petition, the Ford PCs reversed course.
Another MPP was named chair of the Social Policy Committee and MPP Ke was removed from the Justice Policy Committee.
But this is not the end of our petition, even though the Ford PCs would like it to be.
Our petition - click here to add your signature - is also calling on the Legislative Assembly of Ontario to:
1. Return the funds the Ontario PC Party raised through MPP Ke's activities until we are assured none of the money originated from the Chinese Communist Party; and
2. Launch an inquiry into the allegations of Chinese Communist interference in Ontario elections.
Doug Ford's response to reports that MPP Ke was one of the politicians - along with federal and provincial Liberals - implicated in a Chinese Communist Party scheme to interfere in Canadian elections was to announce that he would appoint MPP Ke to serve as Chair of the Social Policy Committee.
This was Ford's concession to Ke for stepping down as a junior cabinet minister - a promotion Ford had given the MPP despite the premier's office knowing about the allegations weeks before they were reported by media.
Thanks to your help, we were able to make sure that didn't happen - even though none of the MPPs at Queen's Park bothered to ask the PC government a single question about the matter during Question Period.
That is why we need help to ask others to sign our petition - click here.
Please also consider chipping in (by clicking here) to help us keep building the New Blue Party - the only political option in Ontario fighting for truth and justice.
Thank you so much for your support!
