Former NHLer Joins Belinda in Calling Out Ford PCs
Tuesday, October 5, 2021
Last week, a mom was arrested in front of her young crying children by OPP officers in the taxpayer owned Ripley-Huron Community Centre. The community centre is in the riding of Huron-Bruce represented by PC MPP Lisa Thompson. Click here to read our email about that sad incident.
On Saturday, Belinda was joined outside a sports facility in Cambridge by former NHL player Steve McKenna, lawyer and hockey dad Stephen Penney, and other concerned parents. Together, they called on the Ford PC government to allow all parents to attend their childrens' sporting events regardless of whether they wish to publicly disclose their vaccine status. Click here or on the image below to watch video of the announcement.
Also last week, Belinda and I were on the Conservative Roundup podcast where we discussed the New Blue Party of Ontario, how we ended up in politics, and the demise of the Ontario PC Party. Click here or on the image below to listen to the show.
You can follow the Conservative Roundup podcast on Spotify.
Unlike the establishment political parties, the New Blue relies entirely on the support of its grassroots members and supporters to fund the party's growth.
Back in March, the Ford PC government reintroduced the Kathleen Wynne Liberal policy of political party welfare.
Bill 254 amended the Election Finances Act to allow for the establishment political parties to fund their operations with taxpayer money. Click here to read our report on that bill and Belinda challenging the government over their policy.
As a result, the Ontario PC Party receives $5.9 million annually in taxpayer funds, the Ontario NDP $5 million, the Ontario Liberals $2.8 million, and the Green Party $700,00.
The Ford PC government even amended the Election Finances Act to allow independent MPPs Roman Baber and Randy Hillier to create, for the first time ever, "independent electoral district associations" and collect taxpayer money as well - which they each did a few weeks ago. Why would the PC government do this for two MPPs they had previously ejected from their PC caucus?
Of course, Bill 254 didn't allow for the New Blue Party of Ontario to receive any such taxpayer funds. New Blue relies exclusively on generous donations from our supporters and members to fund the growth of the party.
To receive a generous tax credit please consider a donation to the New Blue by visiting www.newblueontario.com/donate.
Our membership portal is now open and our founding constitution and founding board have also been established.
If you are receiving this email, you are not a member of the New Blue. To join visit www.newblueontario.com/membership.
We are also currently registering riding associations with founding presidents who have stepped forward to lead the New Blue in their local electoral districts.
In the very near future, we will be opening the candidate application portal as well!
We continue to make great progress.
Remember, the best is yet to come!
Jim Karahalios
Leader, New Blue Party of Ontario
P.S. Unlike the establishment political parties, we do not receive the per-vote taxpayer subsidy. Our marketing is entirely funded by voluntary contributions from our supporters.
