NEW VIDEO! Ban Voter Fraud.

Voter Fraud is wrong, right?
Faking voter information, voting more than once, ballot stuffing... there must be a law against it. Right?
Wrong. In fact, there are no laws in Ontario that punish voter fraud in internal political party elections.

Back in 2017, the Ontario PC Party sued me in an attempt to silence and bankrupt my family, as retribution for our fight against rigged PC nominations and Patrick Brown's carbon tax plans with our Take Back Our PC Party and Axe the Carbon Tax campaigns.
I defeated that lawsuit - only to find myself back in court against them once again, when Ford's team rigged the PC Party executive vote at their 2018 convention. Click here to watch my subsequent interview with Steve Paikin.
Allegations of vote rigging, ballot box stuffing, and other voting irregularities in internal party elections have come up frequently across Canada over the last few years.
When Belinda first went to Queen’s Park as a principled conservative, she was shocked to find there was no law against voter fraud.
So, in 2019, she introduced a solution: Bill 150 - The Ensuring Transparency and Integrity in Political Party Elections Act, 2019 - to stop voter fraud in political parties.
Belinda's Bill 150 proposed 3 measures to clean up the system:
1. Within 7 days after an election for a party leader, president, or candidate, a report must be filed with Elections Ontario setting out the number of persons who were eligible to vote in the election, the number of persons who voted, and the number of votes that each candidate received;
2. Teeth under the law when someone engages in voting irregularities. Bill 150 would apply the same consequences (fines or jail time) that exist for undemocratic actions in general elections to internal party elections; and
3. Bill 150 would permit a candidate to contest the validity of an internal party election by commencing an action in the Superior Court of Justice.
Bill 150 would ensure that political parties in Ontario still run their own internal elections with transparency requirements and consequences set out as permanent solutions to deter undemocratic behaviour.
What did Ontario's PC government do?
First, they publicly opposed Bill 150.
Then, when the PCs received backlash from grassroots conservatives, they claimed they would support the bill - but there was a catch. They would only vote for Bill 150 on second reading because they would be adding an "opt out" clause to the bill at committee.
The Ford PCs wanted to "opt out" of democracy!
They kept Belinda's anti voter fraud bill at PC-controlled committee - without allowing it to come to third reading - for two years.
Then, last autumn, Doug Ford killed Bill 150 by terminating the legislative session.
Belinda - and all of us at the New Blue Party - are still committed to ending voter fraud.
Without free, fair, and democratic elections, there is no meaningful way for the grassroots to fight against the wishes of the establishment.
None of the PC or independent MPPs, and not even the Sloan-Nicholls Team, will tell you about the loopholes that keep the establishment in power. Why?
The New Blue will continue to stand on principle and stand up for you.
