1.     The New Blue Party of Ontario is hosting an in-person policy and planning conference on June 19th and 20th, 2024 in Waterloo, Ontario.

2.     Delegates attending the conference will be voting on policy proposals provided by members of the New Blue Party.

3.     Approved policy proposals shall constitute the New Blue Party of Ontario’s first policy declaration.

4.     From May 21, 2024 until June 14th, 2024, all members of the New Blue Party shall have the ability to provide policy proposals by using the secure password provided to access the online policy submission form at www.newblueontario.com/policy-proposal .

5.     As a result of the resolution by the board of the New Blue Party to extend memberships of New Blue Party members, anyone who became a New Blue Party member after its founding and before April 1, 2024, subject to their membership being vacated as a result of the prior member’s request or a decision of the New Blue Party board, will have access to submit policy proposals.

6.     Each New Blue Party member may submit a maximum of three policy proposals.

7.     If a member submits more than three policy proposals, only the first three submitted will be considered.

8.     All submitted policy proposals will be provided to delegates registered to attend the New Blue Party’s conference.

9.     Policy proposals moved for consideration by a delegate shall be subject to a debate and vote by delegates attending the conference. 

10.  During the conference’s scheduled policy plenary times, each delegate will be permitted to bring forward one policy proposal suggested by members, subject to any process established pursuant to paragraph 11 below.

11.  If time does not permit all delegates the opportunity to present one policy proposal each, policy proposals will be considered either by random selection of delegates and/or by those policy proposals that have multiple delegates moving the proposal forward, such process to be determined by the board of the New Blue Party of Ontario.

12.  Those policy proposals that receive the required level of support among delegates shall be included in the New Blue Party’s first policy declaration.

13.  This by-law is subject to future amendments.
