Today is the March for Life... which the Ford PCs oppose!
Thursday, May 11, 2023
Today, the annual March for Life rally is taking place on Parliament Hill in Ottawa.
Click here to watch us, as we were invited to speak at last year’s rally!
Most of the New Blue Party's 124 candidates that ran in Ontario’s 2022 election were pro-life.
We are proud to be the only Ontario provincial political party that welcomes and promotes pro-life candidates.
While in opposition, the Ontario PC Party pretends to support pro-life values.
But once in government, the Ontario PCs are just as hostile to pro-life values as the Liberals and NDP.
Here are just three examples.
1. Ford PCs Embrace Wynne’s "Bubble Zone" Legislation
Back in 2017, the Ontario Liberals introduced Bill 163 - a "bubble zone" law that results in the arrest of anyone who verbally or non-verbally communicates a pro-life message - including counselling, witnessing, or silent prayer - within 150 metres of an abortion clinic.
Bill 163 is a direct attack on freedom of expression and a precursor to the current bill before the Ontario legislature - Bill 94 - that proposes creating bubble zones around venues hosting drag queen performances for children.
During debate on Bill 163 in 2017, prominent PC MPP Lisa MacLeod praised the bill.
And when it came time to vote, every PC MPP present in the legislature voted in favour of the bill - including Derek Sloan’s co-conspirator Rick Nicholls.
In 2019, the Ford government was going to place one such "bubble zone" around an abortion clinic in Kitchener.
I stopped the PC government from moving forward with the application.
LifeSite News briefly covered that story a year later - click here to read about it.
2. Ford PCs Hide Ontario's Abortion Data
In 2012, the McGuinty Liberals prohibited the release of any abortion-related information when hospitals were added to Ontario’s Freedom of Information and Privacy Act.
For the last five years, the Ford PCs have continued this attack on transparency.
When the CBC requested Northern Ontario's abortion figures in 2019, the PC run Ministry of Health refused to release the data, claiming that it would reveal the location of abortion clinics and put staff at risk.
3. Ford PCs Prioritized Abortion Clinics During Lockdowns
When the Ford PC government shut down Ontario’s economy on multiple occasions to "stop the spread" of COVID-19, thousands of life-saving surgeries and cancer screenings were postponed. Many Ontarians weren't even permitted to say their last goodbyes to loved ones.
But when it came to elective abortion under the Ford government’s lockdowns, everything was "business as usual."
When asked if abortions would be postponed or clinics closed, a spokesperson for the PC Health Minister said the Ford government would "not be involved in the clinical decision-making of any procedure."
We will continue to fight for our values and principles by challenging the left, balancing the narrative, and changing the course in Ontario.
And while the province's establishment parties build up their operations by burning through taxpayer money, we will keep building the New Blue Party with your support!
A donation today will help us keep building and provide you with a generous tax credit. Click here to chip in!
Thank you so much for your support!
