Why We Left the Ontario PC Party Behind
Many of us in the New Blue Party spent years trying to reform the Ontario PC Party from within.
We tried from every angle, but ultimately realized it was impossible.
The Ontario PCs don’t just expel anyone who stands up for true blue values — as they did to Jim and me for raising concerns about their support for the carbon tax, drug injection sites, irregularities in internal party elections, and ultimately for opposing their lockdowns — there is no longer any democratic mechanism within the Ontario PC Party.
There are no policy votes.
No open local nominations.
They rig internal party elections.
Every candidate is handpicked by Doug Ford, and every policy is crafted by left-wing strategists and big-money lobbyists.
That’s why we founded the New Blue Party of Ontario.
We are Ontario’s only provincial party with a true grassroots policy process — where you, our members, propose and vote on the ideas that shape our direction.
Here’s just one example, passed at our Policy and Planning Conference in Waterloo last year:
Policy 4: Manually Count Votes of Eligible Voters
The New Blue Party supports keeping Ontario’s elections transparent, free, and fair by requiring voters to present valid ID prior to voting — and by counting ballots manually, not through electronic tabulators that prevent scrutineers from viewing the actual ballots being counted.
